Worst Celeb news of 2011:
Finding out Amy Winehouse passed away

This was by far the worst celebrity news I got all year. Amy's passing genuinely came as a surprise to me, it wasnt as surprising to many others, but none the less I was baffled by her death.
I was preparing for new sultry & soulful ballads from the recovering "Everything" addict, but recording a new album wasn't in the cards for Amy. No, she did not die from an overdose. No, she did not fall back into her old patterns. She was actually doing everything by the book. Her old ways just didn't want to let her body go.

Amy will be missed but her music lives on in everyone that whistles her tune while shopping, and remembers "Damn, she was really good at what she did".

Best Dressed of the Year:
Mila Kunis

This was by far one of the hardest decisions I had to make when it came to ThePlastiqueLife awards. I love so many types of style and 2011 was definitely a year that so many women stepped out of their comfort zone, but none compared to the always impeccable Mila (pictured above in Alexander McQueen resort 2011) . Every since her huge big screen come back in the December 2010 blockbuster "Black Swan" she has always and I mean ALWAYS been on her A game.

Mila above in Elie Saab Spring couture 2011 has always been gorgeous, but she was to far stuck up Macaulay Culkin's ass ( an amazing ass if I may say so myself), and working on shows like "family guy" and "that 70's show" to showcase her a list style and talent. I'm happy she's finally being the Mila I always knew she could and letting her style blossom in a way many only try to and never succeed in doing so.

Mila above in Vera Wang is on her way to becoming the perfect style icon. Now some people may not agree with and might say "Mila doesn't always look flawless" well they should know I based this on public appearances only and not street style. She's perfect and if you disagree keep it to yourself.

D.I.Y to D.I.E FOR: Fish-Knit

I've been feeling real ARTsy this winter, and the way I handle feeling "artsy" is designing and creating things that SHOW feeling and emotion. I love Chicago but its something about the Chicago winter that gets you down and forces you to pick yourself back up. Maybe its because its cold outside and you're forced to sit in the house with your mind jumping from wall2wall. Whatever it is we all handle it in our own way. This is my way.

This was an old maroon sweater I bought in a vegas thrift store while shopping with my friend (the very cute and stylish) Karolina.
For some reason I fell in love with it. I would wear it in the months to come but it never really found a meaning in my wardrobe until I found some scissors. Like I said the winter had got me down and I wasn't feeling myself: I was more... empty. So I made my sweater empty; I cut these palm sized holes throughout the chest, stomach, and shoulder area. So now it looks like a "Fish-Knit sweater" (I know what a clever play on words).

It didn't take long. Very quick and easy and I get to play around with the knit cut outs I still have. Yay! Right?
