People Whose Style Should be Admired: Karolina Medina

This is probably one of my favorite style post.
Not because of her insane beauty or phenomenal style,
but simply because she's such an honest, interesting,
confident, and AMAZING individual.
She among many others I have spoken of in previous post
are my exact definition of a "Platique Girl."
A Classic beauty with a pleasant personality, impeccable styling-
modern with classic influences, & most of all she has to be
able to have fun. Karolina can drink me under the table
without smearing her lipstick or falling in her heels...
That is why I admire her style:
Why I admire her!

Below is my interview with Karo
and select pictures I feel show her beauty and style.

1.) First, can you describe your style for me?
"I don't think there's one word that would describe my style.
I love to mix vintage inspired pieces with every outfit. I also like to
have the whole look pull together from my hair and makeup."

2.) Does the west coast inspire your style?
Because there is definitely a little Chicago in everything I wear.
"It does, believe it or not most of the time I dress according to the weather outside.
I like to feel comfy, stylish, and confident at the same time."

3.) What one article of clothing or accessory do you need at all times?
"I'm obsessed with Shoes!!!
Mostly all kinds of platforms and huge wedges!!
I personally think you can always rock them with
long skirts, dresses, shorts... You name it!!"

4.) Lastly, who/what are some of your fashion
inspirations dead or alive? And why?
"I have a lot of fashion inspirations, but mostly with my surroundings.
I like to push my limits and try to wear new things all the time.
Thrift stores are one of my things I enjoy.
You never know what kind of unique treasures you can find to add to your wardrobe."

I love everything about Karolina.
She is one of the many reasons I love fashion.
Its hard to find people who truly understand the effort it
takes to find that garment that can make you feel UNTOUCHABLE.
She understands me, and I understand her.
xx

Karolina, is beautiful and speaks her mind;
Sometimes with words, but all the time with her style.

PREEN F/W 2012: QuickReview.

Can PREEN Designers Junstin Thorton and Thea Bregazzi do
any wrong? No. Atleast not in my eyes.
Fashion shows tell a story. I would hate for someone to
want to wear my designs, but have no care for the story they are
telling as they walk down the street promoting my name.
Everytime I see fashion I wonder what the designers
thoughts were as they were creating: What were their feelings.
Justin and Thea chose children's author Beatrix Potter
as slight inspiration for their F/W line, but I think it was more
then the books/author that inspired them.
I believe it was childhood itself that inspired the patterns, colors,
and towering heals before your eyes.

When you imagine your Autumn days as
a child what comes to mind?

I think of the orange, green, and brown midwestern
Fall leaves brushing past my feet. Standing on my tip-toes
trying to catch that glow bug but never reaching.
My mothers fur, and my last days without a heavy coat!
I see all of these things in this collection, but
then again that just me.

After the leaves have brushed into the street and the temp
has droped below comfort weather; The sky gets dark
and so do our clothes because winter has come once more.

Those shoes are to die for correct?
Well they're all a part of the PREEN
collection at ALDO.
The Preen show is one of my favorites every year
for a reason; I hate dissapointment.
PREEN never dissapoints.

3.1Phillip Lim MEN S/S 2012

Phillip Lim one of my favorite designers by
has out done himself with his S/S men's 2012 collection.

Mr. Lim has a certain way of letting his customer know
that they are appreciated; taking time with
little details that not only look good, but can make
you feel good in ways that not every garment can.

The look is so modern I feel as if Ive been living in the past,
and I need to catch up; But there is also a little 90's nostalgia
in every jean jacket in the collection.

His S/S Men's collection is very active while still
holding on to that relaxed/chill factor that Lim is known for.

I can go on for days about his genius,
but Ill leave by saying I simply LOVE IT.
